Different' is the title of one of the tracks on Evie's eponymous album. It is also the word that best describes both her and her music.

The album, mostly containing self penned masterpieces such as the exotic 'Habibi' and the catchy-as-anything 'Crazy' also includes Evie's very personal take on the Depeche Mode track 'Precious'. Evie grew up listening to the band's music and sees them as the ultimate Rock Stars. She also counts George Michael, Lisa Stansfield and Seal amongst her influences.

Evie's career plan, as well as her personality, is further reflected by her choice of label. Signed to Numen Records, whose founder and MD Mozez is himself a fellow artist, notably having been part of the million selling Zero 7project, she has found herself a home where she enjoys total creative freedom.

Deadwax, from London, are influenced by The Beatles, Supergrass, Oasis, The Stone Roses, and BRMC. Their music has been described as "taking you back to the tripped Out 1960s," and "putting a spring in your step, with a Lennonesque feel to it.

In their short time together they have played the likes of The Camden Crawl, Proud Galleries, 100 Club Dublin Castle and Wembley. Deadwax's brand of "atmospheric fluorescent indie" offers a "well crafted arrogance for a heady concoction of Oasis' forcefulness and The Verve's penchant for a meaningful melody."

Pre-production sessions for the record began mid 2010 and saw the band work with legendary producer Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones). At the end of the year they entered the studio to record with Snow Patrol and Belle & Sebastian producer / engineer Phil Tyreman.
